A new strategy game has joined the Aidia Games collection. WW1 Trench Warfare is a defense game set on the Western Front in 1917. The player receives a direct field order: hold the forward trench and prevent enemy infantry from breaking through until relief arrives. It is available to play now from the Aidia Games collection.

The game is built around short tactical decisions rather than a long setup process. Before the battle begins, players choose a difficulty level and assemble a battle deck of exactly three units or support options. That choice defines the tools available once the attack starts, making the opening menu part of the strategy instead of a simple start screen.

Build a small but flexible battle deck

The available deck includes frontline troops, specialists, heavy weapons, and support units. Riflemen provide a basic defensive option, while gunners and snipers add more focused firepower. Cannons, mortars, grenadiers, and bazookas offer heavier attacks. Tanks and flamethrowers bring a different kind of battlefield pressure, while medics and paymasters support the wider defense.

Because only three options can be selected, the deck system asks players to make tradeoffs. A lineup built around raw damage may struggle if it lacks staying power. A more balanced deck can answer several threats but may not dominate any single part of the battlefield. The compact selection keeps each run readable while leaving room to test new combinations.

Three difficulty settings change the pressure

Easy, Normal, and Hard settings adjust the size and pace of incoming attacks. Easy uses smaller groups and slower spawns, giving new players more time to understand deployment and battlefield rhythm. Normal increases the pressure to a steady pace. Hard brings larger groups and faster reinforcements for players who already understand their deck and want a more demanding defense.

This structure makes the game suitable for both a quick first attempt and repeated runs. New players can learn the controls without being overwhelmed, then raise the difficulty or rebuild their deck as they become more comfortable. The central goal stays clear throughout: read the battlefield, spend the available resources carefully, and keep the enemy outside the trench.

Play it now

WW1 Trench Warfare is now linked from the Aidia Games homepage alongside Ship Royale. The new release expands the collection beyond pirate battle royale action with a more deliberate defense and deck-building experience. Visitors can discover both games in one place and choose between two very different styles of play.

Aidia Games will use this blog for release notes, updates from its own projects, and sourced coverage of independent games and AI-assisted game development. New articles will focus on concrete releases, tools, production lessons, and changes that matter to small game teams rather than generic trend summaries.
